Article series – How to become a successful Independent Relationship Manager 3
The first two articles set out the principal benefits available to successful and ambitious RMs if they move to WELREX®. (Articles 1 and 2 are available here)
Here we aim to address any remaining questions, uncertainties, and objections in mind when considering embracing a new reality as an Independent RM.
You will have read articles 1 and 2 with interest and may well be partly convinced, but still have more to consider. You may need further information, have questions, even concerns. After all, it’s normal that it can take time to absorb every aspect of such an important potential career paradigm shift.
That’s ok – we’ve been there ourselves so we understand completely. And whilst we may not cover every consideration unique to your situation, let’s aim to address here some of the key points we have heard from other prospective Independent RMs we have been meeting. Hopefully these offer further clarity.
For example, like most, you have become accustomed to regular salary – you have bills to pay, a family to feed, and certain expenses which have to be serviced every month. The reality is, though, that when you service your clients independently, you exponentially increase their level of satisfaction and your own, and dramatically increase your earning potential. Feel free to use the “IRM calculator” on our website for an indication of the potential growth of your overall remuneration.
Additionally, if you’re used to a corporate environment, you may think that simply becoming your own boss is an insurmountably difficult and long process, with multiple, burdensome steps, inherent complexity and onerous obligations. At WELREX® we make it easy for you: from leveraging our UK FCA authorisation, through helping you get yourself registered as a business owner, to providing any support you need throughout your time as a WELREX® IRM – you’ll have everything covered so you can focus on growing your business.
And as part of the WELREX® community, you’ll get to share experiences and perspectives with like-minded peers who have made the same career change. So you’re no longer a lone wolf, no longer having to keep an eye on internal competitors, and free to leverage each other’s expertise so that business is more productive and life more enjoyable.
Alternatively, you may think that the simple fact of legally owning your clients would make no real difference to your future business. We know it’s different – because it opens opportunities for IRMs to drive their own wealth as they grow their clients’ assets through focused management. Their confidence increases exponentially when they know they get to keep their clients, today and tomorrow and can focus their abilities on realising the value of those relationships over the long term.
Lastly, you may feel that having ultimate flexibility as to where you work, how much you work is not a game changer. We’ve heard that comment from other prospective IRMs – people in your situation – but have seen with our own eyes how their perspective changes once they become free of the shackles of corporate life.
Of course, no-one is saying it’s easy: we all know there is no single silver bullet which leads to career and personal nirvana and that it’s always a case of applying oneself and working better or smarter to be able to maximise the opportunities that arise. We firmly believe this is one of those cases – the effort is more than worth it because it’s a completely different cost/benefit ratio, and a much better return on your time and effort.
So, if you’re interested to learn more, let’s start a conversation. If you still have doubts or questions, give us a chance to prove ourselves: we’ll rise to the challenge and aim to get you to a point where you’re ready to make the move.
And if you’re already persuaded, now’s the time to “book the test drive”! We’ll be happy to demo the WELREX® platform in all its glory at your convenience.
